Services
Critter Comfort offers a variety of pet care services. Rest assured that all of them include lots of personalized attention, caring, and fun. To keep you informed of your pet's activities, a memo detailing the visit's events will be left in your home after each visit. We can also call or email you if you wish.
Fees are based on a number of factors, including your location, services requested, and the number & type of pets you own. Please call or email us with this information & we will be happy to quote you a fee.
Our services include: dog walks, pet sitting, professional pet photography, park visits, pet medicating, pet taxi, cage cleaning, and medication & supply pick up.
Initial Consultation: A complimentary meeting with you & your pet in your own home prior to administering any services. We will take detailed notes on all of your pet's unique needs & emergency info. You'll get to ask us all the questions you have & see your pets interact with their Critter Comfort caretaker, because your peace of mind is a high priority for us. This allows us to customize our visits to what your pet is comfortable with.
Dog Walks: Your dog will get an individual walk around your neighborhood, usually for 20-30 minutes but the time is up to you. We'll also make sure he has fresh water (and food or treats if you like) upon our return. This is a one to one service between your dog & the walker, unless there are multiple dogs in your household. This service is perfect for anytime of the day - like when you're working, caring for an infant or sick family member, or anytime life demands must keep you away from your beloved pet. We can also reinforce any training commands (sit, heel, ect) that your dog has been taught or is still learning so that they stay fresh in his mind.
Pet Visits: Sometimes your pet needs some extra attention during the day: for a bathroom break in the backyard, to be feed, played with, or anything else they need while in their home. We will visit w/your pet & tend to their needs. This is ideal for young puppies, elderly dogs, cats, and small animals. We tailor our visit to your requests, but small animal visits are usually 20 minutes while cat or dog visits are 30-40 minutes.
Pet Sitting: When you go away, you want to know that your pet is safe. Since nothing beats the security & stability of your own home, let us care for your pets there. They will have the comfort of maintaining their usual schedule & your home will have a lived-in look. If you select our overnight service, your sitter will arrive at your home by 7 pm & stay until 8:30 am. You may also choose to have your sitter visit your home. Dogs usually require visits 3 times a day between 7-9 am, 2-4 pm, and 9-11 pm (fewer visits for cats & small animals, more visits for older dogs based on your request).
Both options include: feeding & medicating pets, cleaning up after them (house, yard, litter box), brushing pets, bringing mail in & taking out garbage, watering plants, adjusting blinds, turning lights on & off, and of course plenty of quality time between your pets & their sitter.
*New* Professional Pet Photography: Critter Comfort is now affiliated with a local professional artist (AA in Visual Arts, BA in Studio Art, MFA in Sculpture) who specializes in pet photography! Our photographer has pets of his own, loves animals, and even pet sits for us because pets seem to love him too. This ensures that your pet will be completely comfortable during your personal photo shoot, regardless of species, so your pet's true personality shines thru in your photos! Shoots can be conducted in the comfort of your own home or the outdoor location of your choosing. Photos can include as many of your pets as you would like, and you can join in them too. Packages of assorted size photos are customized based on your request. Pet portraits make perfect presents (gift certificates available) & holiday cards.

Park Visits: Most dogs enjoy the array of new sights & sounds found while taking a long walk at a park. Park visits give them the chance to relax & get some extra exercise in an exciting new place. We pick up your dog & take her for a long hike at a park. Some of our favorites are Rockefeller & Rockwood Hall State Parks & Teatown Lake Reservation, but we'd love to take your dog to his favorite park too. The entire visit usually last approximately 2-3 hours & fresh water breaks are provided along the hike. Shorter walks available upon request. We only walk 1 dog at a time unless you have multiple dogs.
Medication: We can incorporate pet medicating into any of the above services. Experienced in administering pills, shots, insulin, liquid meds, ointments, and subcutaneous fluids.
Pet Spa: We can also incorporate bathing & ear cleaning, and will try to accommodate any special grooming requests. Our goal is to make the experience a calm one for your pet, which will leave him looking clean and feeling comfortable.
Pet Taxi: We provide transportation for your pets to & from the vet, groomer, or doggie daycare facility. Your pet gets to enjoy a leisurely trip in the car, and you can avoid rushing home so that you pets are on time for their appointments. We will stay with your vet during his entire vet or groomer visit if you wish.
Medication & Supply Pick Up: We can pick up medication, food, or pet supplies for you from the vet's office or pet store and bring it to your home.
Cage Cleaning: From dog crates to hamster cages, cage cleaning can be incorporated into any one of the above services.
